up to my elbows in beautiful soil... 4.06.2009 |

this weekend N and i spent some quality dadddy/daughter time.

the epitome of the weekend though was Saturday afternoon as we tilled our garden. so much dirt was falling into my shoes that i decided to take them off and walk barefoot behind the tiller. it was so silken and cool. the soil in our plot is really nice, just by a fluke.

so i am walking though the plot with my barefeet and N comes over from her social butterfly-ing and asks why i don't have my shoes on. i explain about getting dirt in my shoes and thinking this would be better. she's not really interested in my explanation. she wants to take her shoes off too. it doesn't matter if there is dirt in her shoes or not.

and we very quickly find ourselves working in the plot both missing our shoes and both enjoying the cool, refreshing quality of freshly turned earth.

made for a lovely saturday afternoon. the monday morning allergies it released suck, make no mistake, but saturday was lovely.
